BENEO Expands its Product Portfolio at Hi Europe 

Hi Europe 2010, 16th – 18th Nov, Madrid, Stand: M6 

At this year’s Hi Europe (HiE) in Madrid, BENEO - leading manufacturer of functional ingredients - will launch two new products: “BeneoPro VWG” vital wheat gluten and “Orafti®L58 Organic” organic liquid fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS). BENEO’s series of Solution Platforms will also be on stand to help customers discover the technical, nutritional and health advantages of the entire product portfolio. 

BeneoPro VWG

The launch of BeneoPro VWG is set to broaden BENEO’s range of functional ingredients. Known for its technological properties such as improved dough strength, viscoelasticity, water absorption and shelf life, BeneoPro VWG will enrich BENEO’s solutions for multiple food applications including bread, pastry, cereals, pasta and meat.  Not only does the introduction of this vital wheat gluten develop BENEO’s protein offering still further, but it also continues to strengthen the company’s position in terms of texturisers and bakery offerings.

Orafti®L58 Organic

BENEO, renowned for its inulin and oligofructose products derived from chicory, will have experts on stand at HiE to talk about its latest organic liquid fructo-oligosaccharide: Orafti®L58 Organic.  The product gained NOP (National Organic Program) certification for marketing in the US and is in the final stages of the organic certification process for the EU market.[1]  Produced from organic sugar, Orafti®L58 Organic offers technological and nutritional properties.  It can be used as a prebiotic fiber, promoting good digestive health and it can be used to replace sugar in applications like: yoghurt, ice cream, breakfast cereals and cereal bars, as well as baked goods such as sponge cake and other bakery products.   Production samples of L58 Organic are now available for EU food producers and production is planned to supply the EU market from early 2011 onwards.

BENEO’s Solution Platforms

Following the success of BENEO’s Solution Platforms at FiE 2009, the company is bringing five Solution Platforms to HiE this year.  Visitors to the stand will gain product, market and consumer insight from experts, focused on the technical, nutritional and health benefits of BENEO ingredients.  BENEO’s Solution Platforms have proved popular amongst existing and potential customers due to the fact that they provide food producers with comprehensive expertise needed to develop innovative, balanced and healthy food products for the dairy, beverage, confectionery, baby food and bakery sectors.  BENEO supports its customers throughout the entire product development process; from new product ideas and concept development using consumer insight and market research, to legislation advice and formulation of successful products. 

Moreover, members of the BENEO-Institute will speak in the conference program during the show. Talking about the latest research on healthy gut flora and showing how to benefit from energising ingredients, topics include:

·         Exploring the opportunities of natural (or healthy) gut flora (Tuesday 17th November, 9.30am)

·      Exploiting naturally energising ingredients in response to consumer demand (Wednesday 18th November, 9.30am)
