BENEO is a new functional ingredients powerhouse, that brings together - under the parent group Südzucker - major industry players in their particular fields.  BENEO-Orafti, BENEO-Palatinit and BENEO-Remy officially joined forces in November 2007 to tackle together the changing needs of a global, health focused food industry.  Each company is known for its own unique products from functional carbohydrates and sugar replacements to chicory or rice derivatives.

BENEO is specialised in supplying you with food ingredients from natural sources enabling real product innovation that satisfies the consumer’s need.  BENEO-AN and BENEO-BBC focus respectively on animal nutrition applications and non-food activities. 

BENEO-Orafti is the world leader in the production and sales of food ingredients from chicory. Orafti^® inulin and oligofructose have proven to improve the balance of the body’s intestinal flora by stimulating our own beneficial bifidobacteria. An improved intestinal flora also helps the body to absorb more essential nutrients, such as calcium, from our diet.  A healthy digestive system contributes to an overall feeling of well-being. Therefore, Orafti^®ingredients can be the basis for well-balanced food products that improve your digestive health and make you feel good.  With a head office in Tienen, Belgium, the company operates in more than 80 countries and has production units in Oreye (Belgium), and Pemuco (Chile).

BENEO-Palatinit develops, manufactures and markets ISOMALT, the No 1 sugar replacer in hard candies worldwide and the only one made from pure beet sugar. Recently Palatinit introduced the functional carbohydrate Palatinose™. It is the only low glycaemic carbohydrate that provides prolonged energy in the form of glucose to the body.  BENEO-Palatinit also introduced a multifunctional pharmaceutical excipient for the formulation of solid dosage forms under the brand name galenIQ™. With a global network of sales agencies in more than 45 countries, BENEO-Palatinit supplies food and pharmaceutical markets around the world with production facilities that are located in Offstein (Germany).

BENEO-Remy is a world market leader in the production and sales of rice derivatives like starches, flours, proteins and recently also stabilised rice bran. The company’s product portfolio also includes Nutriz, a rice concentrate that is used in non-dairy drinks and desserts. Remy products are sold in diverse applications like baby food, breakfast cereals, biscuits, prepared meals, soups and sauces, dairy products and many more.  BENEO-Remy has production sites in Belgium and Italy and services the world market through a sales network of distributors in more than 45 countries.

BENEO-Animal Nutrition (BAN) is the dedicated sales and marketing organisation for all animal nutrition applications within the BENEO-Group.  BAN offers a very attractive and diversified product portfolio to petfood, agri and aquafeed markets. 

• Chicory-derived inulin and oligofructose (Orafti®) are known for their beneficial effects on gut flora and intestinal health.

• BAN offers also carbohydrates such as rice flours, starches and BeneoCarb S which is  a slowly digestible syrup extracted from sugar beet . 

• BeneoPro W, vital wheat gluten and Remypro N70, a highly digestible protein source matches the increasing demand by aqua feed and pet food producers.

• This attractive portfolio is completed by design products such as Linafiber which is a combination of linseed, chicory fibres and BeneoCarb S.  It can be used for sows and piglets.

BENEO-Bio Based Chemicals regroups the non-food activities within BENEO.  This business unit develops and commercialises the well know Remy industrial adhesives,  the INUTEC®-product range and other carbohydrate derivatives.
